Why Most People Don't Make Money in Network Marketing
If I've heard it once I've heard it 1000 times ...
"Most people don't make money in network marketing."
This is a typical reply from the typical nay-sayer.
My reply has always been the same.
That simply is NOT true.
Now allow me to explain why so many don't make much money.
They have taken the action step of enrolling but that's about it. When nay-sayers look at the percentages of people who "don't make money in network marketing" they are not taking into consideration that those people haven't taken the action(s) necessary to make money.
Oh, they may have mentioned it to a friend or two, but after those friends showed no real interest, then the newbie decided to not talk to anyone else.
When the nay-sayer sees a graphic such as the one below they feel vindicated in their view.
They have actually worked the business in spite of the challenges.
It's as simple as that!
These percentages are basically the same for most sales industries. For example, the majority of realtors make only a few sales a year while the big earners, those who have multiplied millions in annual closings, work hard to gain buyers and sellers as clients. They WANT to work the business and:
- they aren't stopped or hindered by the challenges
- they follow their passion and desire to live at a certain economic level and
- they work very hard to get there.
As I knocked on the door of the other realtor, she let me in her home and apologized as she rushed back to her office. She was finishing up a call with a client. She came out and was almost out of breath. I said, "How's business these days?" She said: "I am so swamped. I have 3 closings THIS WEEK and getting ready for 2 more next week!"
I caught a glimpse of her large computer monitor in her office and I could see that she had her Gmail page open. I said, "Looks like you have lots of emails to reply to." She said, "Yes, most of those are clients requesting listing appointments or wanting information about financing or their closing."
These 2 realtors had different approaches. One sat around watching news and complaining about the downturn while the other was going full jets. One had a real estate license but the other was actually IN the real estate business!
That same difference applies to network marketing,
The majority of network marketing recruits have merely signed up and this is why they make little to no money. The ones that make it to the highest ranks treat it like a business and they get out of it exactly what they put into it.
