REASONS PEOPLE FAIL IN NETWORK MARKETING | PART 6
Another Reason for Failure in Network Marketing is Listening to the Nay-Sayers
Verified statistics demonstrate that only about 5% of people actually achieve their goals and dreams. The other 95% fall into various categories.
Rather than try to reach their goals, many people focus on bringing others down. They think that if they can bring you down then they can feel better about themselves as it relates to not having achieved their own goals.
DO YOU REALLY CARE WHAT NEGATIVE NANCY THINKS?
If you are more concerned about what a Negative Nancy has to say than pursuing your own dreams, then you will fail. Why would you ever allow Nancy to determine what you do in life/
I want to encourage you to watch this 10-minute video10-minute video of Arnold Schwarzenegger as he shares his 6 rules for success. Number 2 is “avoid the nay-sayers.” I want to warn you that there are a few minor curse words in the speech so if that is a problem for you then don’t view it.
But the speech is very encouraging.
READ GREAT BOOKS AND WATCH GREAT MOVIES (TRUE STORIES)
I also would encourage you to read Mel Robbins,’ The 5-Second Rule. It is a powerful book about achieving your goals, over-coming your fears, and winning over nay-sayers.
Train yourself to ignore all the negative things you may hear.
My favorite movie of all-time is Rudy starring Sean Astin. The movie is about a kid who had a dream to play football for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. It’s based on the true story of Rudy Ruettiger.
All his life he wanted nothing else and yet all his life his family and friends (with the exception of one friend) told him it was a stupid dream and absolutely impossible to achieve. He was too small and didn’t have much athletic ability. And his family reminded him of this regularly.
In one scene Rudy’s dad was trying to convince Rudy that life in the family business was a good life. He was telling Rudy how his 2 older brother were making their way up the ladder in the steel mills they in which worked. Rudy’s dad once again told him that his dream was stupid and that he should be like his brothers.
Rudy responded to his dad by saying, “All my life I have wanted to pursue my dream and all my life I have been believing everything everyone says about how impossible it is.” Then he leaned over toward his dad and said, “I don’t wanna do that anymore.” Rudy realized his dream. He realized his dream by refusing to listen to his negative family and friends.
THE TRUTH ABOUT ALL BUSINESSES
Among the most common objections that the nay-sayers bring up is that most people (about 95%) never earn much money at all in network marketing. They are right! But don’t let this truth discourage you.
The fact is that most businesses fail within the first 1 to 3 years. It doesn’t matter if it a barber shop, beauty parlor, cafĂ©, or anything.
There are 100s (even 1000s) of realtors in every major city. Only about 5% of them stay in real estate more than a year or two. This is also true of insurance agents.
So, when Negative Nancy says, “You know, most people don’t make any money in those things.” Your response should be, “You’re absolutely right! But that’s true of every business. I think this is a good fit for me and I’m going to give my goal a shot. I’m sorry this isn’t a fit for you but that’s ok.”
Don’t listen to the nay-sayers.
